CTSP’s throughput up 40% in 2016
Yearly throughput of JSC “Container terminal Saint-Petersburg” hit a record high of 557 800 TEU in 2016 (40% increase versus 2015).
CTSP became a leading container terminal in Russia with its market share in the ports of St. Petersburg and Ust-Luga having grown from 22% to 30% in 2016.
Company’s success is a result of cooperation with clients and partners, client orientation, high level of service and teamwork between all company departments.
Import container traffic amounted to 251 500 TEU (up 35% year-on-year), including 51 500 TEU of refrigerated cargoes. Export flow grew by 45% to 306 400 TEU. Laden and empty volumes accounted for 77% and 23% of the export flow.
Export and import volumes accounted for 54% and 45% of overall container throughput, respectively.
In 2016 CTSP continued cooperation with the largest global container lines: MSC, CMA CGM (including MacAndrews and OPDR), Hapag-Lloyd, OOCL, COSCO, FESCO, Unifeeder, Team Lines, Yang Ming and others.
Thanks to collaboration with clients and Oktyabrskaya Railway, CTSP increased the volume of cargoes removed by rail from 26% to 30%.
In 2016 the terminal handled 524 calls with the average call size 1064 TEU.
