195,3k TEU handled in the first half of 2014
In the first half of 2014 Container terminal Saint-Petersburg (CTSP) handled 195,3k TEU, 1% less than in the same period of the previous year.
The decrease, reflecting the common trend at the stevedoring market, is a result of the volume of import decreased due to depress domestic demand and depreciation of the ruble against major world currencies in the beginning of the year.
Generally, the volume of import was 98,3k TEU, which is 4,9% lower than in January-June 2013.
The volume of export increased by 2,5% to 97k TEU, while the share of full containers in the overall export increased from 19% to 35%. The volume of full export containers in the first half of was 34,4 TEU.
The share of export and import in the over all container through put was 50,3% and 49,7% respectively.
