In 12 months of 2015 JSC “Container terminal Saint-Petersburg” (CTSP) spent 652,9 million rubles (89% more than last year) on implementation of the terminal development program.
The bulk of the funds (400,7 million rubles) was spent on expansion of the port infrastructure, including improvement of engineering facilities.
In the reporting period the terminal started expansion of the customs control area, building of the port equipment maintenance workshop, and finished renewal of the terminal heat lines.
Over 128 million rubles were spent on purchase of the handling fleet, including two 50t RTG cranes, terminal tractors, semitrailers and container handlers. Equipment and vehicle fleet were also renewed.
Upgrading and expansion of the existing rail freight handling facility at a total cost of 109 million rubles allowed to increase the share of rail cargoes from 18% to 26,3% and decrease urban traffic congestion.
Improvement of the customer service and security system included expansion of the existing video surveillance system, putting into operation of new access control facilities and upgrading of the terminal IT infrastructure at a total cost of 14,8 million rubles.
IT upgrading included implementation of the following functions: control of freight customs status; submitting applications for customs inspection via web-interface; arranging inspection of freight by state authorities immediately after discharging from vessel.
Regular investments in company development allowed to increase the terminal capacity to 750 thousand TEU and become the second largest terminal in Russia by volume of cargo handled in 2015.
