CTSP more than doubled spending on its development program
In 2016 JSC “Container terminal Saint-Petersburg” invested approximately 1,5 billion rubles into the terminal development program. The company increased funding 2,3 times (compared to 2015) to purchase the new handling equipment and finance the port infrastructure.
The major part of the total expenditure (1,2 billion) was spent on acquisition of handling equipment, vehicles and tools. In 2016 the company bought two mobile harbour cranes Liebherr LHM-550 (including spreaders with the maximum load on hook 140t and 41t under spreader), three 40t RTG cranes by Konecranes, three 45t Kalmar’s reach stackers and seven Kalmar’s terminal tractors with 65t Seacom semitrailers.
To make operations safer, anti-collision laser sensors were installed on the cargo handling equipment (STS and RTG).
In order to comply with the SOLAS container weight verification requirements (VGM certificate), the terminal purchased BCA-P scales.
Over 284,7 million rubles were invested into port infrastructure and engineering facilities, including installation of the metal gates to prevent unauthorized access to the terminal by rail tracks, the fence around the diesel tanks of the boiler house, the fuel monitoring system for vehicles and the filling station, improvement of the protection system of the central distribution substation and upgrading of the air conditioning and fire fighting systems.
14,4 million rubles were spent on the expansion of the existing video surveillance system and upgrading of IT infrastructure.
Regular investments into terminal development boosted its capacity to 750k TEU and made it one of the leaders in terms of container handling volume in Russia.
