In the first half of 2015 JSC “Container terminal Saint-Petersburg” (CTSP) handled 173.1k TEU (- 11.4% year-on-year). The drop is the result of the general trend in the Russian stevedoring market driven by adverse economic situation. Particularly, the throughput of containers in the Greater port of Saint-Petersburg and the Ust-Luga Port in January-June 2015 declined by 28.2% compared to the first half of 2014.
In the first six months of 2015 Container terminal Saint-Petersburg (CTSP) spent 320 million rubles on development of port infrastructure.
The bulk of the funds was spent on expansion of handling fleet and port infrastructure of the terminal. In the reporting period the company purchased two 50 t RTG cranes.
Within the customer service and security system improvement measures the terminal upgraded IT infrastructure and put into operation new access control facilities.
In January - June 2015 Container terminal Saint-Petersburg (CTSP) spent over 3,2 million rubles – 28% more than in the same period last year - on implementation of social and environmental projects .
1,8 million rubles of 2,4 million of the total social expenditures were spent on sanatorium treatment, health care, sports and leisure of CTSP employees. 600,000 rubles were distributed among the employees in difficult straits and families with newborn babies. Veterans of the company received cash bonuses and were awarded the title of Veterans of Container terminal Saint-Petersburg.
